Abstract

The fatty acids from the seeds of alfalfa were extracted with petroleum ether by soxlet extraction,esterified and analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.11 constituents were detected and identified,which accounted for over 86.71%.Of them the main components were:9,12,15-octadecatrienoic acid(37.06%),9,12-octadecadienoic acid(Z,Z)(25.25%),8-tetradecenic acid(8.1%),hexadecanoic acid(10.33%),etc.The unsaturated fatty acids were 62.31% in amount.
