Exploring Phylogenetic Relationships between Hundreds of Plant Fatty Acids Synthesized by Thousands of Plants. more details ...
Abstract Objective: To explore the content of the fatty acids of Ampelosis grossedentata, and compare it with other harvested parts of the plant. Methods: The fatty acids were extracted by Soxhlet extraction from Ampelosis grossedentata. The chemical compositions of extracts were analyzed by GC-MS technique. Results: The content of oleic acid, linoleic acid of nucleus of the seed and episperm from Ampelosis grossedentata are higher than that of others. The order from low to high of the relative content of palmitic acid, oleic acid, stearic acid are nucleus of the seed, episperm, stems and leaves, while the content of linoleic acid is just the opposite. Conclusions: The content of unsaturated fatty acids from Ampelosis grossedentata seeds is higher than that of others, which has great value in exploitation and utilization.
