Abstract The seed oil was extracted from Holboellia fargesii Reaub seed using supercritical carbon dioxide.The influences on oil yield of extraction pressure,extraction temperature,separation pressure,carbon dioxide flux and so on were studied.The results showed that the optimized conditions were as follows:extraction pressure 25 MPa,extraction temperature 35 ℃,pressure of separation vessel Ⅰ 9 MPa,temperature of separation vessel Ⅰ 55 ℃,pressure of separation vessel Ⅱ 5 MPa,temperature of separation vessel Ⅱ 40 ℃,flow rate of carbon dioxide 20 L/h,extraction time 2 h.The oil yield was 28.35% under the optimal conditions.The characters of the oil were:refractive index 1.468 1,acid value 9.65 mgKOH/g,iodine value 66.74 g/100 g,peroxide value 14.56 mmol/kg,unsaponifiable matters 1.93%,moisture and volatile matters 0.28%.The main fatty acids in the oil were palmitic acid,stearic acid,oleic acid and linoleic acid,and the total content of oleic acid and linoleic acid was more than 65%.
