Exploring Phylogenetic Relationships between Hundreds of Plant Fatty Acids Synthesized by Thousands of Plants. more details ...
Abstract Two methods were used to methylate the fatty acid in pomegranate seeds. The methylated fatty acids were analyzed by GC-MS. 14 kinds of fatty acids were detected by method 1 and 24 fatty acids were detected by method 2. The results showed that the main components of the fatty acids in pomegranate seeds are: octadecenoic acid, octadecdienoic acid, docosanoic acid, hexadecanoic acid, octadecanoic acid, eicosenoic acid and eicosanoic acid. Some of them, such as docosanoic acid, were identified for the first time from the seeds of pomegranate fruit.
