Fatty-acid-composition of seedoil of Punica granatum L.were analysed by GC.There are six components in it and the percentage of them are punicic acid 86.01,Linoleic acid 5.14,Oleic acid 3.81,Palmitic acid 2.91,Steaic acid 1.52 and Linolenic acid 0.61.This is very similar with the composition of tung oil.Film forming test indicated that seedoil of punica is a fine dring oil and is recommended as a kind of material in painting industry.The oil also has a significant effect on apple preservation.
