Exploring Phylogenetic Relationships between Hundreds of Plant Fatty Acids Synthesized by Thousands of Plants. more details ...
Abstract The composition of fatty acids in wild and planted staphylea bumalda DC seed oil were analyzed and compared. The seed oil was extracted by methylene chloride. The oil was saponified and methylated, and then analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method. The results show that 20 fatty acids are identified in wild and planted staphylea bumalda DC seed oil .The main fatty acids are linoleic acid, linolenic acid, oleic acid, hexadecanoic acid and the linoleic acid is 48.50% in wild seed oil and 57.60% in planted one. The linolenic acid is 8.86% in wild seed oil and 10.12% in planted one. The total content of the unsaturated fatty acids is 70.22% in wild seed oil and 80.31% in planted one. There are almost the same kinds of fatty acids in wild and planted staphylea bumalda DC seed oil,but the total content of the unsaturated fatty acids in planted seed oil is 10.09% higher than that in wild.
