Abstract The physicochemical properties and the fatty acid composition of the Nux Prinsepiae Uniflorae oil were mainly analyzed. The content of the crude fat of the Nux Prinsepiae Uniflorae was 42.9%. The acid value, iodine value, peroxide value and saponification value of Nux Prinsepiae Uniflorae oil were 3.77 mgKOH/g, 133.6 g/100 g, 10.6 mmol/kg and 209.5 mgKOH/g, respectively. Nine kinds of fatty acids were found in Nux Prinsepiae Uniflorae oil. The saturated fatty acid were maily palmitic acid(7.03%), stearic acid(2.17%) and arachidic acid (1.32%). The unsaturated fatty acids were mainly composed of linoleic acid(51.7.6%) and oleic acid(36.6%). The Sn-2 fatty acids were maily linoleic acid (60.0%) and oleic acid(37.2%). The fatty acid distribution of Nux Prinsepiae Uniflorae oil was also determined, and the highest content of β-OLL was up to 20.71%.
