Exploring Phylogenetic Relationships between Hundreds of Plant Fatty Acids Synthesized by Thousands of Plants. more details ...
Abstract Ninty-seven oat samples of 59 varieties from 9 locations harvested from 2007—2010 were collected.Oil content and fatty acids composition of the samples were determined, and the differences among years and locations were analyzed.Meanwhile cluster analysis was employed in oat samples classification. The results indicated that the average content of oil in oats was 6.42%;locations had no significant effect on oil content, but years had significant effect.Oleic acid and linoleic acid took up 80% of fatty acids in oat oil,and their ratio was close to 1∶ 1.Both locations and years had significant effects on fatty acids composition.Oat samples were classified into 3 categories, the differences among categories were mainly reflected in oleic acid.
