Abstract The optimum preparation procedure for the content of polyhexose in Ligustrum licidum Ait. fruit and exocarp were studied by L_9 (3~4) orthogonal experimental design. The results showed that the influences on condensation of alcohol, the amount of water-adding, extraction temperature and extraction time on the content of polyhexose-extracting of the whole fruit and its exocarp were indistinctive relatively. The polyhexose-extracting is complete relatively by means of short-time, more times. The main constitutents of fatty oil were oleic acid (44.378%) , linonic acid(41.934%) , palmitic acid (4.525%) , stearic acid (1.843%) and linolenic acid (0.867%) etc. The content of unsatujrated fatty acids reached 87.179%, Its seed oil had higher nutrient value and had potential prospects in exploitation and utilization.
