Abstract

The cottonseed oil was extracted by Soxhlet extraction.The fatty acids in the cottonseed oil were estiri-fied by sulfuric acid-methanol and analyzed by GC-MS.13 components were separated and identified.Of them themajor fatty acids were:hexadecanoic acid 25.92%,8-Octadecenoic acid 11.78%,Linoleic acid 37.50% and O-leic acid 16.00%.
