Exploring Phylogenetic Relationships between Hundreds of Plant Fatty Acids Synthesized by Thousands of Plants. more details ...
Abstract The paper reported the content of the seed oils from Datura stramonium L.,its fatty acid components and toxicity to mice. The fatty acid were extracted by petroleum ether and its chemical components were identified by GC-MS,and determined by GC.It is shown that the fat acids are mainly composed of 1,20-Eicosanebioic acid(34.55%),Crinan-3-ol,1,2-didehydro-,(3à)(13.41%),8,11-Octadecadienoic acid(4.56%),8,11,14-Eicosatrienoic acid(Z,Z,Z)(4.39%),Octane,2,3,3-trimethyl-(4.35%),7,10-Octadecadienoic acid(3.61%),linoleic acid ethyl ester(2.64%),α-octadecatrienoic acid(2.34%) and Cyclohexanepropanoic acid,2-(acetyloxy)-,methyl ester,cis-et al.Toxicity of the seed oils from Datura stramonium L.to mouse was bioassaied by sample incorporated in the diet. The results indicated that the fat oils without toxic effects of the stomach on mouse. The seed of Datura stramonium L.contain a variety of active composition which is beneficial for human body.It is very worth to develop and utilize as a source of edible oil or extract active composition.
