Abstract

The active component determination and analysis showed that the seed oil of Alhagi pseudalhagi,one species of subshrub in the family Leguminosae widely distributed to the desert area of the Northwest China,contained unsaturated fatty acid 88% and a lot of microelements necessary for physiological functions.The results from the mouse swimming tests and the life test of fruit fly(Drosophila melanogaster) showed that the swimming endure time of mice fed with the seed oil became obviously longer than the control,and the life prolong rate of fruit flys cultured in the media added with the seed oil ranged from 21.43% to 22.56%.Therefore,the seed oil of Alhagi pseudalhagi for some health functions such as keeping fit,anticancer and prolong life would be well worth close attention and further development
