Abstract Tomato-seed oil extraction and refining technology was studied.The appropriate extraction condition obtained with experiments is as follows: using n-hexane as solvent,size of tomato seed 70 mesh,water content 6%,material/liquid ratio 1g∶6mL,extraction temperature 70℃,and extraction time 7 h.With this condition the rate of extraction is 77.3%.The appropriate refining condition is alkali dose 11%~15% and reaction time 30min at 31~40℃ for saponification.The refined tomato seed oil contains unsaturated fatty acids amounting to 72.2% of the total fatty acids,and the main unsaturated fatty acid is linoleic acid(about 49%).The refined oil accords with the sanitation standard for vegetable oil and is nutrient rich.
