Objective To study the fat constituents of the seed of Euphorbia Sororia. Methods The constituents were extracted by Soxhlet extraction method, then separated and identified by gas chromatograph mass spectrometer(GC-MS).Relative content of each component was determined by area normalization. Results Ten kinds of fatty acid were identified, the primary fatty acid composition of Euphorbia Sororia seed oil were palmitic acid(5.608%),stearic acid(2.219%),oleic acid(13.857%),linoleic acid(17.623%),a-Linolenic acid(50.854%).Conclusion Euphorbia Sororia seeds are in great value of development because of the abundant EFA(essential fatty acid).a-Linolenic acid and Linoleic acid have a 82% of the relative content in EFA from Euphorbia Sororia seeds oil.
