Exploring Phylogenetic Relationships between Hundreds of Plant Fatty Acids Synthesized by Thousands of Plants. more details ...
Abstract [Objective] The study aimed to supply scientific foundation for the synthetic exploitation of Aquilaria sinensis seeds.[Method] The oil content in 20 g A.sinensis seeds was determined by soxhlet extraction and GC-MS method was used to analyze the fatty acid components in seed oil.[Result] The oil content in A.sinensis seeds was 68.5% and far higher than that in seeds of the other woody plants. The oil in A.sinensis seeds contained 7 fatty acids,in which the content of oleic acid was highest, accounting for 62.75%,the second was stearic acid, accounting for 15.92% and the third was palmitic acid, accounting for 14.52%.Oleic acid and stearic acid were unsaturated and saturated fatty acids with highest contents resp. The total unsaturated fatty acid accounted for 68.52% of fatty acid content and the saturated fatty acid accounted for 31.48%.The ratio of SFA to MUFA to PUFA was 1.00∶2.04∶0.13.[Conclusion] The A.sinensis seeds had great high oil content and important nutrient value, could provide abundant renewable raw materials for the fuel oil industry of raw matter in China.
