Exploring Phylogenetic Relationships between Hundreds of Plant Fatty Acids Synthesized by Thousands of Plants. more details ...
Abstract Oil and its fatty acids percentage of the seeds of 48 safflower accessions, including Chuanhong1,Jianyanghonghua and some other safflower accessions from 32 countries were measured. The correlation relationship between the oil percentage and different agronomy characters, between the fatty acids percentage and different agronomy characters, between the oil percentage and different fatty acids percentage were analyzed. The results indicated that PI559909 from Canada and PI253529 from France were excellent at oil percentage, with the percentage of 32.68 % and 31.60 % respectively.PI559909 from Canada and PI253518 from Austria had the highest linoleic acid percentage, which reached 83.79 % and 81.67 %,respectively.PI401479 from Bengal had the highest oleic acid percentage(53.10 %).Considering seeds yield per plant, oil percentage, linoleic acid percentage and oleic acid percentage,PI559909 from Canada and PI312275 from Hungarian were the excellent. The results also showed the negative simple and partial correlation coefficient between plant height and oil percentage was significant at 0.01 level, significant at 0.05 level between blooming time and oil percentage, significant at 0.05 level between palm acid percentage and oil percentage. The negative simple and partial correlation coefficient was significant at 0.05 level between oleic acid percentage and plant height. The negative simple and partial correlation coefficient was significant at 0.01 level between linoleic acid and oleic acid percentage. The positive simple and partial correlation coefficient was significant at 0.01 level between linoleic acid and palm acid percent. The positive partial correlation coefficient was significant at 0.05 level between oleic acid and palm acid percentage.
