Determination of seed fatty acids in Consolida species by gas chromatography

Abstract

Seed oil content and fatty acid composition of 4 spp. of Consolida ( C.orientalis,C.armeniaca,C.glandulo sa,C.hohenackeri) from the family of Racuncolaceae are reported. The oil ranges from 44.5 to 53.1% by dry wt. Major fatty acids are oleic (C 18:1) and linoleic (C 18:2) acids in seed oils of all 4 spp. surveyed. Palmitoleic (C 16:1) and arachidic (C 20:0) acids are minor constituents in seed oils from all 4 spp.
