Component Acids of Tamarindus indica, Peltophorum ferrugineum, and Albizzia julibrissin

Abstract

The three seeds examined in this work were available in the Karnatak University Botanical Gardens. There are four reports 6, 7, 8, 10 on Tamarind seed oil of which two are on Indian samples, and there are no reports on the Peltophorum seed oil. The only report on Albizzia julbrissin seed oil was not available for comparison with the results determined in this work. We undertook this investigation because of our interest in searching for novel fatty acids and also because of our interest in examining seed oils and fatty acid mixtures by reversed phased partition chromatography.
