Exploring Phylogenetic Relationships between Hundreds of Plant Fatty Acids Synthesized by Thousands of Plants. more details ...
Abstract In the seed oils from the Lauraceae family plants, e.g. Litsea glauca Sieb [Neolitsea sericea (Blume) Koidz.], Lindera obtusifolia Blume, Lindera citriodora (Sieb. et Zucc.) Hemsl, Neolitsea aciculata (Blume) Koidz., Lindera strychnifolia (Sieb, et Zucc.) F. Vill., and Lindera umbellata Thunb., the characteristic cis—4-aIkenoic acids, such as cis-4-decenoic, cis—4—dodecenoic and cis—4—tetradecenoic acid were found. The methods of isolation, purification, identification of the above mentioned acids, syntheses of cis—and trans—acids and the antiseptic property of cis—4-decenoic and trans—4—decenoic acids and their corresponding sadium salts were reviewed.
