The seed oil of the Gevuina avellana Mol (Proteáceae) contains 22.0% of an hexadecenoic acid different from the palmitoleic acid (9-10 hexadecenoic). lt is shown that the hexadecenoic acid of the Gevuina avellana Mol seed oil is the 11-12 hexadecenoic, not previously mentioned as a "major" natural occurring fatty acid.
