Exploring Phylogenetic Relationships between Hundreds of Plant Fatty Acids Synthesized by Thousands of Plants. more details ...
Abstract The seed oils of two species of Mandevilla (M. laxa and M. pentlandiana) were evaluated. linoleic acid was the major component of the total fatty acid content, with palmitic and oleic acid as important constituents. The triacylglyceride components were separated and the acidic composition determined. Hydrocarbons analysis showed substantial differences between both plants. Total sterols and esterified sterols were also studied. The total protein content of seeds was also determinated.
