Exploring Phylogenetic Relationships between Hundreds of Plant Fatty Acids Synthesized by Thousands of Plants. more details ...
Abstract The fatty acids of the seminal oil of 19 Solanaceae species [Nierembergia hippomanica, Nicotiana glauca, N. noctiflora, N. tabacum, Petunia axillaris, N. stricta, N. corymbosa, N. longiflora, Capsicum chacoense, C. annuum, C. baccatum, C. pubescens, Solanum diflorum, S. palinacanthium, S. stuckertii, S. elaeagnifolium, S. sisymbrifolium, S. stuckertii, S. elaeagnifolium, S. sisymbrifolium, S. melongena, S. argentinum] were studied. Different fatty acid values were observed, the highest of which (more than 50%) is the value of the fatty acid 18:2. The conclusions at which the researchers have arrived through several numerical techniques allowed us to divide the botanic entity studied in two groups. They are congruent with the tribes established by a previous study of morphologic characters.
