Occurrence of unusual fatty acids in plants

Abstract

This review is concerned mainly with advances in the knowledge of unusual fatty acids from seed oils, but there is some consideration of fatty acids from other plant sources (e.g. leaves, wood). The review is divided into 2 main sections covering non-oxygenated groups and oxygenated groups. Chapters in the first section are: Non-conjugated ethylenic acids; Non-conjugated acetylenic acids; Conjugated ethylenic acids; Conjugated acetylenic acids; Allenic acids; Cyclic acids; and Miscellaneous non-oxygenated acids; and the second section: Epoxy acids; Non-conjugated monohydroxy acids; Polyhydroxy acids; Conjugated ethylenic hydroxy acids; Conjugated acetylenic hydroxy acids; Keto acids; and Miscellaneous oxygenated acids.
