Abstract A method for separation of α-, β-, γ- and δ-tocopherols by thin-layer chromatography, and their subsequent colorimetric estimation, is described. Recovery is 97–98%, and no pretreatment of the unsaponifiable matter is necessary. The contents of individual tocopherols in a number of oils are recorded.
