A NEW FINDING OF AN IMPORTANT FATTY-ACID CIS TETRACOS-15-ENOIC IN MALANIA-OLEIFERA OIL

Abstract

M. oleifera Chun et Lee is distributed in the Southeast of Yunnan, china. The results for quantitative analysis and identification of the oil contents are given. The isolation and identification of the cis-tetracos-15-enoic were described. The oil contains 67% cis-tetracos-15-enoic which give pelargonic acid and pentadecanedioic acid when it is oxidized. It can be therefore used in synthesis of racemic muscone. The other acids were oleic, capric, lauric, myristic, palmitic and stearic.
