As a part of our continuing screening programme of unusual fatty acid containing seed oils it was observed that the oil of Leucas urticaefolia seeds contains an allenic acid (24 %) which was characterized as 5,6-octadecadienoic (Laballenic) acid by using spectral and chemical degradation methods.
