A novel keto fatty acid from cassia occidentalis seed oil

Abstract A keto fatty acid (Z)-7-oxo-11-octadecenoic acid) has been isolated in appreciable amount (27.1%) from Cassia occidentalis seed oil. The identification was based on chemical and spectroscopic methods.
