Between 1990 and 1999, samples of olive oil, sunflower oil, safflower oil, soyabean oil, maize oil, wheat germ oil, rapeseed oil, grapeseed oil, linseed oil, sesame oil, walnut oil, groundnut oil and hemp oil were analysed with regard to the following: acid number; peroxide value; fatty acids; sterols; stigmastadien; tocopherols; and delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol. A total of ≥2000 individual oils were analysed, with samples being obtained from German enterprises involved in wholesale, retail and import. Results are tabulated and compared with data obtained in similar studies.
