Fatty acids. Part II. The nature of the oxygenated acid present in vernonia anthelmintica (Willd.) seed oil

Abstract Vernolic acid, reported to be 11-hydroxyoctadec-9-enoic acid † (Vidyarthi, Patna Univ. J., 1945, 1, 51) is now shown to be 12:13-epoxyoctadec- 9-enoic acid. The approximate composition of V. anthelmintica seed oil has been determined.
