Exploring Phylogenetic Relationships between Hundreds of Plant Fatty Acids Synthesized by Thousands of Plants. more details ...
Abstract Seed oils of the tobacco varieties Rawandoz, Gulsoor (Oriental type), Hicks (Flue-cured type) and Burley 21 (Burley type) were investigated. The oil content of the tested varieties was 35.20-40.25%. The sapon. and iodine values were 177-187 and 166-167, resp. Acid and acetyl values were 1.2-1.9 and 0.90428-0.0669. The major unsatd. fatty acids of the oils were linoleic and oleic acids. The major satd. fatty acid was palmitic acid. Linoleic and oleic acids ranged from 70.18-72.38% and 13.11-14.85%, resp. Myristic, palmitic and stearic acids were 0-0.5, 9.93-11.08, and 3.23-3.94%, resp
