Exploring Phylogenetic Relationships between Hundreds of Plant Fatty Acids Synthesized by Thousands of Plants.
more details ...
Oils have been extracted from Plantago media, P. major, and P. lanceolata seeds by means of petroleum benzin with the yields of 9.6, 8.2, and 5.0 respectively. The above oils contained fatty acids as follows: myristic, palmitic, stearic, oleic, linoleic, and linolenic. The oil of P. media is characterized by a high level of polyunsaturated fatty acids, whereas the oil of P. lanceolata contained much more saturated acids. Furthermore, it should be mentioned that in the above oils were also found from 3 to 4% phytosterols.
