Exploring Phylogenetic Relationships between Hundreds of Plant Fatty Acids Synthesized by Thousands of Plants. more details ...
Abstract Wild date seed (Phoenix sylvestris) contains 8.2% oil. The oil is orange-yellow in color and has a low free fatty acid content, I value of 50, sapon. value of 212, and unsaponifiable matter of 1.9%. Fatty acid profile of oil showed lauric [143-07-7] 23.3, myristic [544-63-8] 12.7, palmitic [57-10-3] 11.5, stearic [57-11-4] 3.9, behenic [112-85-6] 1.0, lignoceric [557-59-5] 1.2, oleic [112-80-1] 35.5, and linoleic [60-33-3] 10.9%.
