Abstract The kernel comprises 50% of the deodara seed and contains 49.1% fatty oil with refractive index (30°) 1.4700, acid no. 50.2, I value 134.4, OH no. 14.0, sapon. value 191.4, and unsaponifiable material content 6.0%. The fatty acids of the oil comprise satd. C16 4.2, satd. C18 2.3, satd. C20 0.5, oleic 49.5, linoleic 28.2, linolenic 9.5, and unidentified acids 5.8%.
