Exploring Phylogenetic Relationships between Hundreds of Plant Fatty Acids Synthesized by Thousands of Plants. more details ...
Abstract Oil was extracted from Ipil- Ipil (Leucaena leucocephala) seed. After purification, some of its physical and chemical properties were studied and compared with those of standard oils. Different fatty acids of the oil were identified by Gas-Liquid Chromatography. The oil was found to contain Palmitic acid (14.01%), Stearic acid (7.22%), Oleic acid (22.41 %), Linoleic acid (53.27%), Linolenic acid (2.22%) and Arachidic acid (0.82%). Ash, Protein, Reducing sugar and Crude fibre contents of the seed cake were also determined.
