Exploring Phylogenetic Relationships between Hundreds of Plant Fatty Acids Synthesized by Thousands of Plants. more details ...
Abstract The gas chromatography specific fatty acid composition of cashew kernel oil showed: palmitic 8.2%, 0.4% palmitoleic acid, stearic acid 4.2%, oleic acid 67.4% and 19.8% linoleic acid. The cashew nut shell oil contains mainly mono and dihydroxy-alkylbenzenes and Alkylphenolsäure. These components of the oil can be separated due to the large polarity difference by distribution between 80-90% methanol and low-boiling petroleum ether. The silica gel column chromatography can be used for preparative separation of these components.
