Exploring Phylogenetic Relationships between Hundreds of Plant Fatty Acids Synthesized by Thousands of Plants. more details ...
Abstract Epoxy fatty derivatives of both cis 9-octadecenoic and trans 2-octadecenoic acids produced from Crude Mangifera Oil have been prepared by in-situ technique utilizing hydrogen peroxide and acetic acid in the presence of strong acid catalyst. Excellent conversions to epoxide have been achieved with a series of prepared unsaturated fatty esters (70%), alcohols (44%), and hydrocarbons (58%). Epoxy fatty compounds are excellent plasticizers and stabilizers for polyvinyl chloride resins.
