Estudio fitoquimico de las nueces (semillas) de lecythis elliptica

Abstract

This study of the nuts (seeds) of Lecythis elliptica is centerecl on the chemical analysis of the oil ancl the raimining shurny or solid material. The analysis of the oil includes extraction, quantitative determination, physicalchemical constants, chemical composition by GLC techniques. The analysis of the solid part includes the chemical composition and the identification of the amino acids by TLC techniques. It was conclucled that the seleno containing amino acids are the responsible for the toxicity attributed to this plant material.
