Exploring Phylogenetic Relationships between Hundreds of Plant Fatty Acids Synthesized by Thousands of Plants. more details ...
Abstract The fatty acid composition of Crotalaria incana, C. walkeri, C. verrucosa and Robinia pseudoacacia seed fats bas been studied with the help of alkali-isomerisation and spectrophotometry, GLC and TLC. The percent component acids in order of above listing of species are ; myristic 0.3, 0.S, 0.4, nil I myristoleic 0.3, nil, 0.3, nil; palmitic 17.9, 16.2, 18.9, 3.8; hexadecenoic 1.6, ·1.2, 0.5, 0.7; stearic 2.7, 3.1, S.S. 1.3 ; oleic S.6, 11.2, 9.8, 9.7; linoleic 54.6. 54.l, 53.4, 61.1 ; linolenic 10.7, 9.0, 7.3, 21.5 1 aracbidic 4.9, 2.7, 1.8, 1.4; behenic 0.9, 2.0, 2.1, 0.5 1 ligooceric O.S, nil, oil, nil, respectively. The results of alkali-isomerisi.tion and GLC are found to be in good agreement with each other
