Phys. and chem. properties of oil isolated from a local variety of E. scandens were detd., showing an acid value 0.433, percentage free fatty acid (as oleic) 0.218, I value 104.4, sapon. no. 224.9, and nonsaponifiable matter 1.173%. A mixt. of fatty acids derived from the oil and subjected to fractionation via urea complex formation showed an approx. compn. of 18% satd. acids, 45% oleic acid, and 37% linoleic acid.
